Here's the weft twined fingerweaving I've done. I mean fingerweaving in the colonial Native context and not the finger-loop braiding context.

Weft twining was contemporary with both the oblique technique and the warp-faced technique. Weft twined pieces (like tumplines) usually had to stand up to a bit more abrasion and tension.

My first attempt at fingerweaving was a set of warp-faced garters each with twelve strands of green 4-ply wool knitting yarn. While they got the job done they were no where near what I'm doing now.

A sling done in natural jute. The pocket is weft-twinned with one increase and one decrease in width. The ends are 8-strand square-braids except the starting point which is a loop of 4-strand plaiting. This one is a little small for golf balls so I plan to make one with 16 strands of slightly finer hemp.

This one doesn't look like much but I feel like it is my greatest achievement. It is a strap done in the inner bark of the tulip poplar. I started with firewood that had laid on the ground long enough for the bark to ret. Then thigh-rolled the strands for the warp and used shreaded bark for the weft twinning. The ties are oblique.
