BJ Lyons: His Stuff

Hi! This page is intended to keep my friends updated on the stuff I'm making and the places I'm going.

What's in a name?

In the real world I'm known as BJ Lyons.

In colonial re-enacting circles I'm known as Totiwiishi a Shawnee man (and, sometimes a frontiersman).

In the SCA I'm known as Bjorn bunhauss Olafsson a late 10th Century Viking and resident of the Shire of Misty Highlands in the Kingdom of Aethelmearc who enjoys Target Archery, Thrown Weapons, Combat Archery, and, of course, many aspects of the arts and sciences that result in a nice viking kit.

I started re-enacting colonial era Shawnee in 1997 and, in that process, procured enough clothing and accouterments to be a colonial "white-guy" if necessary.

I started going to SCA events in October 2004 and hope to get my 10th Century Viking completely outfitted someday.

When I started re-enacting I thought, "Why pay lots of money for this stuff? Why not just make it myself?" But, that's when I had more time than money. So, after doing it for a while I have spent just as much money on tools and materials as I would have if I had just bought what I needed/wanted. But, now that I have more money than time, I have a bunch of tools and materials still waiting for me to pay them attention. But, I keep chugging along trying to make most of the things I need/want.
